If you’re heavily influenced by streetwear in today’s society – like me – then you’ll like this post, I hope. So if you have been sleeping or hiding under a rock for the past six months or so then you wouldn’t know that Jerry Lorenzo’s huge label Fear Of God has been taking the world by storm with the likes of Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Kardashians and many more fashion icons rocking it out and about. Fear Of God is based out of Los Angeles and is getting more known day after day due to the staple they are having in the streetwear society. Personally I love pretty much all Fear Of God piece’s but at the price their products retail at, I’m out. $895 for a pair of jeans is the problem, I get that it’s a designer label and that but really? Imagine the McDonald’s you could buy if you didn’t splash the cash on a pair of jeans that you could get similar to elsewhere. At the beginning I thought finding a quality brand like such would be hard as the market is so saturated. Then I came across Mnml, a brand also based in Los Angeles who I believe are in competition with Fear Of God – even Jerry Lorenzo himself I think does because after Hypebeast featured Mnml he was straight to jump on the comment section to slander the brand of “stealing his design”. The difference between their jeans and FOG’s is that their jeans are $64, a lot more affordable for an average person not wanting to spend so much.
I reached out over Instagram to the brand and thankfully they got back to me, I spoke with a Marketing Associate whose name I will not say, who from there set me up with an influencer agreement and sent out some garments. The brand not only focuses on denim but also t-shirts, headwear and more, all achieving the ‘minimal’ look which is currently very in style.
I couldn’t wait for the delivery man coming so that I could check out the products, and when the pieces arrived, they definitely didn’t disappoint.
The quality of each garment was beyond my expectations, upon holding the jeans (M1 Splash Denim) in hand I could tell the craftmanship gone in to making them. The denim has a slim fit, not super skinny or anything, so therefore allows for stacking and it is true to size as they are 100% cotton with no elastic. The t-shirts I was sent were amazing quality (Waffle Knit Tee and Marble Scallops Tee), they are slightly oversized so I got a small and I’m 5foot8. After checking the pieces out I knew this brand was going to take off and that’s exactly what it is doing now. Check their Instagram out @mnml.la
